Callum Everett Frost (born 10 April 1992) is an English actor. He appeared in school plays and commercials before being cast as the hard-living Max Merrick, a recurring character on the E4 teen series Skins (2009–10). His MovieNation breakthrough came when he gave a critically acclaimed performance in the 2014 science fiction film Death of the Body. Frost was nominated for Outstanding Breakthrough Performance at the 2015 MovieNation Awards for his role. His next starring role was in the 2015 film Dangerous, which was a critical and commercial success. In 2016, he had a supporting role in the historical period drama film Strange Fruit.

Early life

Frost was born in Old Winsdor, Berkshire, England, the son of Evelyn Ireland, an interior decorator, and Raymond Frost, a portrait painter. He has a younger half-brother, Truman Ireland, a junior tennis player, from his mother's remarriage to Michael Ireland, a property developer.

Frost began his career as a child model at the age of ten, for McDonalds, after meeting a talent scout in a toy store. He also did advertisements for some local yogurt brands and athletic gear.

As a schoolboy, he performed in plays, including the role of Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk and the Prince in Sleeping Beauty. Frost was educated at two junior independent schools: The Mall School, a small school in Twickenham, followed by the Lambrook Haileybury school in Berkshire. He subsequently attended two other independent boarding schools: Millfield School in Somerset and Shiplake College in Oxfordshire.

Career

In 2008, while on a school field trip, Frost cut corners and wandered into the audition room for Skins, E4’s British teen drama series. While in the wrong place at the right time, he remarkably scored his first professional acting gig in the recurring role of teenage stoner Max Merrick during the show's third and fourth seasons. He received positive reviews for the role.

He was in line to star as Paul Knox in the second season of the FX TV series Loose Ends, but backed out of the role not long before production was due to commence. Gabriel Young was quickly cast in the role to replace him.

He made his big screen debut in MovieNation in the 2014 film Death of the Body, based on the novel by Rick Chiantaretto, alongside Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand and Cameron Bright. The film, directed by Antonio Lombardi, quickly achieved box office success and was noted by critics as one of the best films of the year, with Frost receiving high marks for his performance, including a nomination at the 2015 MovieNation Awards.

In 2015, he starred in Dangerous as Eric, a privileged teenager held for ransom over a drug deal gone bad, who becomes attracted to the fast-paced lifestyle of his kidnappers after being introduced to the joys of grown-up partying, stripping and drugs.

He had a supporting role as a plantation owner in the 2016 film Strange Fruit, which centers on a black slave who stages a rebellion in 1850s New Orleans. He will next star in the romantic drama Love Story, based on the novel by Erich Segal, alongside Gabriella Wilde. It is a remake of the 1970 film of the same name.

Personal life

From June 2014 to January 2015, Frost dated country singer Blair Meyers. On her debut album Based on a True Story, Meyers wrote a song called "Callous", which is widely speculated to be aimed at her failed relationship with Frost. In April 2015, he was involved in a romantic relationship with singer-actress Serena Davis, with whom he quietly parted ways in 2016.
