Gabriel Jaime Young (born June 2, 1982) is an American actor and director. He is known for his role as Paul Knox, the main villain introduced in the second season of Loose Ends, and spawned his own limited-run spinoff Knox.

Early life

Young was born in Pittsburgh, and grew up in Green Tree, Pennsylvania. His mother, Agnes "Aggie" (née Houston), worked at an investment firm and later at a magistrate's office. His father, Travis Ross Young, a barber, died of cancer when Young was seven years old. Young and his brother, Jack, were subsequently raised by their mother and grew up Catholic. His father was of Italian descent, while his mother is of Irish ancestry. Young graduated from Central Catholic High School (Pittsburgh), where he participated in their musicals and won the Gene Kelly Award for Best Supporting Actor, and then attended Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, from which he graduated in 2004.

Career

In 2014, Young was cast as Paul Knox during the second season of the FX original series, Loose Ends. Young departed the cast of Loose Ends in the third season finale, before landing a limited-run six-episode miniseries, Knox, which premiered on January 12, 2017. In 2016, Young starred in the infamous role of Spock, made famous by actor Leonard Nimoy, in the Justincase Productions hybrid film, Trek Wars.

Personal life

Young is openly gay. In 2014, he entered into a relationship with actor Chet Paxton; the couple split in 2017. The relationship caused a stir in the industry, with Young being 11 years Paxton's senior. In August 2018, Paxton announced he and Young had married.
