The MusicNation Awards are an international music awards ceremony, founded by MusicNation and the MusicNation Recording Academy, created to honor musical accomplishments by acts in all of the currently active Nations. The inaugural ceremony was held on July 22, 2013, in London, England, United Kingdom at The O2 Arena. From 2013 to 2014, the event was broadcast live on NBC. From 2016 to 2023, WarnerMedia Entertainment operated networks have broadcast the event; Movie Nation Plus+ co-simulcast from 2021 to 2023. As of 2024, Amazon MGM Studios' Prime Video simulcast the event, as part of a three-year deal. The seventh annual event was held on July 28, 2019, from The Forum in Inglewood, California. Since its inception, New York firm Society Awards has produced the trophy.
Overview
On June 1, 2013, the MusicNation Recording Academy announced their plans to find a newly established awards ceremony, which was to focus its intentions on honoring artists of each active Nation. Each hosted year, to gain some sense of culture, the event is hosted at different locations. Following a missed broadcast in 2015, show producers announced a multi-year deal with Turner Broadcasting Company (under WarnerMedia; previously Time Warner), to air the ceremony live across networks TBS, TNT and TruTV via live simulcast; as well as video-sharing platforms Vevo (2016–2018) and YouTube nationwide and across TBS, TNT and TruTV digital platforms.
